2. COLLECTION, PROCESSING AND USE OF PERSONAL DATA

2.1 PERSONAL DATA

Personal data is information about the factual or personal circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes, for example, your name, phone number, address and any other information you provide to us when you register and create a customer account. Statistical information that we collect, for example when you visit our online shop, which cannot be directly linked to individuals, is not included here. These include, for example, statistics on which pages of our shop are particularly popular or how many visitors there are to certain arcticoils.fi pages.

2.2 CUSTOMER ACCOUNT

For each customer who registers successfully, we will set up password-protected direct access to their data stored with us (Customer Account). Here you can view information about your completed, open and recent subscriptions, as well as manage your details and newsletter. You agree to treat personal access information as confidential and not to disclose it to unauthorised third parties. We cannot accept responsibility for the use of misused passwords unless we are responsible for the misuse. If you do not log out, you are automatically logged in. This feature allows you to use some of our services without logging in each time. However, for security reasons, you will be asked to re-enter your password.

2.3 COLLECTION, PROCESSING AND USE OF PERSONAL DATA

Data protection is very important to us. Therefore, we strictly comply with the provisions of the Federal Privacy Act and the Telemedia Act when collecting, processing and using your personal information. We collect, store and process your information throughout the duration of your purchase, including any subsequent guarantees, for our services, technical management and our own marketing purposes. Your personal data will only be transferred or otherwise transmitted to third parties if this is necessary for the performance of a contract or for billing purposes or if you have given your prior consent. For example, those who are part of the order processing, such as the service providers we use (e.g. drivers, logistics staff, banks) receive the information they need to place and process orders. Only service providers can use the information transmitted in this way to carry out their tasks. No other use of the information is permitted, and none of our trusted service providers do so. For your order, we need your correct name, address and payment details. We need your email address to confirm your order and contact you. We also use this to establish your identity (customer login). You will also receive an order and delivery confirmation via your email address. Your personal data will be deleted unless legal retention requirements prevent it and you have requested deletion.

2.4 USE OF DATA FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES

In addition to processing your information to process your purchase on Arctic Oils, we also use your information to communicate with you about your orders, certain products or marketing campaigns, and to recommend products or services of interest to you. You can block the use of your personal data for advertising purposes at any time, either as a whole or for individual measures. A text message to the contact details mentioned in section 1 (Email) is sufficient.

2.4.1 PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR EMAILS

If we receive your email address in connection with the sale of a product or service and you have not objected to this, we reserve the right to offer you products already purchased on the basis of Article 7(3) of the UWG from time to time by email from our selection. This is to protect our legitimate interests, which prevail in the balancing of interests, by showing our customers in advertising. You can object to the use of your email address at any time by sending a message to the contact options described below or via the link in the promotional message without incurring any costs other than the basic cost of sending.

We only use this information under a pseudonym. By analysing and evaluating this information, we are able to improve our websites and webpages and send you personalised advertising. This means advertising that recommends products you might actually be interested in. Our aim is to make advertising more useful and interesting for you. Therefore, evaluating and analysing the pseudonym information you collect helps us to ensure that we do not send you random advertising. Rather, we will send you promotional material, such as product recommendations, by email that matches your interests. In this respect, for example, we also compare which promotional messages are opened to avoid sending you unnecessary emails. Arcticoils uses the information I provide and other information stored in my customer account and pseudonymous usage data to present me with personalized advertising and/or special offers and services. Cookies and other identifiers have a specified expiry date, after which the browser deletes the identifier. We use these technologies to deliver functionality, personalisation, analytics and marketing targeting. Functional cookies and local storage are used, for example, for customer identification, login maintenance, delivery time estimates and shopping cart functions.

We use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google AdWords, Google Display Network and Google DoubleClick for analytics related to our site usage, popular products, trends and sales and, with your consent, for marketing targeting. The information sent to Google is anonymised. Read more about how Google Analytics processes your data.

In addition to the privacy features of the account manager, you can opt-out of the identifiers used for marketing targeting by enabling the Do Not Track function in your browser and setting your browser to reject third-party cookies. When logged in to a customer account, the privacy settings in the account manager override the browser’s Do Not Track function.

4. ONLINE ANALYSES

4.1 GOOGLE ANALYTICS

Google Analytics is a service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help Google analyse your use of our website. The information about your use of our website (including your IP address) stored by cookies is usually transferred to a Google server in the United States and stored there. We would like to point out that the code “gat._anonymizeIp();;” has been added to our website by Google Analytics to ensure anonymous collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking). We endeavour to store your IP address only in abbreviated form, which guarantees anonymous use and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your identity. If IP anonymisation is activated on our website, Google will shorten your IP address in advance in the member states of the European Union or other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the United States and shortened there. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of our website, to compile reports on website activity for us and to provide us with other services relating to website and internet use. The IP address sent by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be combined with other Google data. Google will only transfer this information to third parties by law or in the context of processing orders. Under no circumstances will Google combine your data with other data collected by Google. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google and to the processing practices and purposes described above. You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to fully use all the functions of our website. 4.2 GOOGLE ADWORDS CONVERSION TRACKING

This website also uses Google performance tracking. Google Adwords will place a cookie on your computer if you have reached our website through a Google ad. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If a user visits a particular Adwords client website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the client can recognise that the user clicked on an advertisement and was directed to that page. Each Adwords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be tracked through Adwords customers’ websites. The data obtained from the performance cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted in to performance tracking. AdWords clients will find out the total number of users who clicked on their ad and redirected to the page with a result tracking tag. However, you will not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not want to participate in the tracking process, you can also opt out of the required cookie setting – for example, by using a browser, which usually disables the automatic setting of cookies.

You can also deactivate cookies for tracking purposes by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain www.googleadservices.com. Google’s privacy policy on performance tracking is available at: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1722022?hl=de
